Ok, so I haven't been very good about blogging, maybe the longer you do it the better blog habits you form? I'm currently in the middle of building a blog for a friend, and I'm spending loads more time on hers than I am on my own. The difference is hers is for a business while mine is really just for fun and to curate all of the beautiful images and things I find. I recently learned how to animate GIF files from the most incredible blog called Pugly Pixel, and I used them on my friend's website but when I tried to do it on my blog I couldn't get it to work! Oh, the ups and downs of photoshop. I love when I figure something out but so frustrated when I can't get things to go my way. I'm teaching myself so any advice on learning photoshop is greatly appreciated! xo, Briony

LET'S DO THIS MONDAY
I don't know about you, but I have a serious case of the Winter blues. I'm trying to head into this week more positive and cheerful, so I'm going into this week with a "Let's do this" attitude. I'm originally from Texas so winters are tough on me, because for the first 18 years of my life I didn't have any!
Now that January is almost over I know it's all downhill from here till Spring. I can't wait to be lying out under the Italian sun in my bikini once again. It can't come soon enough!

HAPPY WEEKEND
While driving through Switzerland we happened through this fairy tale castle on top of a hill. There was not a person in site and I gasped just seeing it.

MISSING NEW YORK
The past few days I have really been missing New York. I can't say what triggered it but I think it all started when I saw these photos.

Right around the corner from where I used to live in the East Village they discovered an old abandoned theatre above a bodega I used to go to all the time (East Village Farms.)
The theatre and the bodega are all about to be torn down, but what's crazy to me is that a massive theatre went forgotten and unnoticed in New York for 60 years! In a place where space is at such a premium it's amazing that gems like this still exist.
The theatre how it used to look. I can actually feel a physical ACHE in my heart missing New York.

GUIDE TO MUNICH (PART 3)
Munich is famous for its Christmas Market, and with really good reason. I've been to European Christmas markets before, in Belgium, Austria, Switzerland and Italy but none of them comes close to the one in Munich. You can just tell that THIS is where Christmas markets were born.
Spend all day winding between the thousands of stalls, smelling baked apple strudel and cinnamon, mulled wine served in a kitschy red boot, german chocolate in any form you can dream of. All the people working the stalls spoke perfect English, which was good for me since my German is limited to the five words or so I remember from high school.
Even though we were there a few weeks before Christmas, it wasn't that busy and we could stroll at a leisurely pace to each stall. European Christmas markets are an absolute gold mine if you are in need of Christmas gifts. There is truly something for everyone on your list, and since most things are handmade and the makers are right there, the prices are just right. After our wonderful stay in Munich, we had a gorgeous sunny day to drive home to Como.
FIN!

COMO FROM ABOVE
Seaplane ride over Como Italy in the fall
For my boyfriend's 30th birthday I booked a seaplane ride over Como. It cost 150 Euros for half an hour but it is seriously a must do for anybody living in Como or just visiting. It takes you from Como to Bellagio and back and gives you absolutely out of this world views. I must have taken about 100 pictures it was so gorgeous.
I definitely recommend going at sunset when Como is at it's most magical. If you want to book just contact Aeroplane Como. They all speak English and are super friendly.
View of the Swiss Alps- stunning!

GUIDE TO MUNICH GERMANY (PART ONE)
In the second week in December my boyfriend and I drove the 4 and a half hours from Como to Munich. I had never been to Germany before so I was EXTRA excited for this trip. Even though we were only there for two days and it snowed/sleeted/rained/wintry mixed the entire time we were there we absolutely loved it. The Christmas market was on, which was truly magical. If you have never been to a European Christmas market before I can't recommend them enough.
There are thousands and thousands or market stalls set up right in the heart of Munich selling everything you can dream of from handmade ornaments, music boxes, german chocolates, hot mulled wine called "gluwein," toys, big hand knit wooly sweaters and on and on!
We had a great weekend wandering around in the freezing weather, drinking a gluwein every hour to keep warm, eating more potato products than I've ever had in my life, and enjoying the general extreme Christmasyness of Bavaria! Next up I'll post the places I think are must see in Munich.
